About Dragon Steel Design
At Dragon Steel Design, we specialise in structural steel detailing supported by extensive hands-on fabrication experience and advanced digital modelling capability.
With over 25 years of experience in steel fabrication and welding, we understand how steelwork is manufactured, assembled, and installed in real-world workshop and site environments. This practical knowledge allows us to produce detailing that is not only accurate on screen, but fully buildable in practice.
Our fabrication background is combined with a Level 6 qualification in parametric modelling, enabling us to integrate modern CAD workflows with intelligent 3D modelling techniques to deliver efficient, coordinated, and fabrication-ready outputs.
We focus on producing clear, reliable detailing that improves project coordination, reduces downstream issues, and supports smooth delivery from design through to fabrication and installation.
Dragon Steel Design is also recognised as a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA).

Design and Engineer Coordination
We can work directly from engineer-issued calculations and design information to produce coordinated fabrication models and detailing packages.
Where required, we also coordinate closely with structural engineers during the detailing process to support efficient project delivery.
Structural Calculations coordination
Structural calculation packages can also be arranged as part of the detailing process through coordination with qualified structural engineering support.
This allows clients to benefit from a more streamlined workflow between design, calculations, and fabrication detailing.
